Born May 8, 1914, in New Windsor to Roy and Clara Boyd Fairbanks, she married Roy Loquist on Feb. 21, 1936, in Galesburg. He died May 18, 1977. She married George Baker in September 1978 in North Henderson. He died in October 1996. Two sons, Richard Loquist and Mitch Loquist, two brothers and one grandson also preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Sharon) Milner of Aledo and Jeannine Patterson of Alexis; three sons, Garry Loquist of North Henderson, Steve Loquist of Columbia, S.C., and Rob Loquist of Monmouth; three sisters, Mae Lindburg of Jacksonville, Ruth Love of Geneseo and Delores Day of Rock Island; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was a nurse's aide and later was a unit secretary at Galesburg Cottage Hospital for 15 years. She was named Employee of the Year and received a trip to Germany in 1979. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in North Henderson.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mount Vernon Cemetery in North Henderson. The Rev. Kurt Carlsen will officiate. Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel in Alexis, where family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight.
