OBITUARY: Pine Bluff Commercial, Pine Bluff AR, 17 Feb 2005

James Monroe McBroom, 92, of Pine Bluff, formerly of DeWitt, died Tuesday. He was born Nov 3. 1912, at Cookville, Tenn., a son of the late John Pleasant McBroom and Josie Quarles McBroom.

He retired from the Arkansas County Road Department. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church at DeWitt. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine McBroom.

Survivors include his wife, Inez Thompson McBroom; three daughters, Carolyn Cummings of Carlisle and Sharon McElroy and Sheila Shook, both of DeWitt; three stepsons, Leroy Faulkner of DeWitt and Richard Faulkner and Clyde Faulkner, both of Pine Bluff; one stepdaughter, Wanda Miller of Pine Bluff; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church at Dewitt. Burial will follow in DeWitt Cemetery by Essex Funeral Home at DeWitt.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
