LYONS - Iva Beatrice Buckbee, 95, died July 13,2000, at Lyons Good Samaritan Center.
She was born Oct. 7,1904, in rural Lyons, the daughter of Ely and Cinderella Riser Fuson. A lifetime resident of Lyons, she was a retired nurse's aide at Lyons District Hospital, and was a school and hospital cook.
She belonged to First Baptist Church, Lyons, the AARP, American Baptist Women, the Millie Marvin Circle, the former Lyons Garden Club, the Friendship Club, and the Oakland Homemakers EHU.
On April 21, 1926, she married Alfred Buckbee at Ellsworth. He died July 5,1965.
Survivors Include: a son, Kenneth, Lyons; a daughter, Lucille Shoemaker, Lyons; five grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Delbert; two brothers, Arthur and Jesse Fuson; and two sisters, Carrie Nickel and Amy Buckbee.
Funeral will be at 10:30 am. Monday at Sillin Funeral Home, Lyons, with the Rev. Gary Kams presiding. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lyons Municipal Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to the First Baptist Church or the Good Samaritan Center, both in care of the funeral home.
