"Edna L. Asbury, 93, Lansing, formerly of Leavenworth, died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2003, at her home.
She was born July 1, 1910, in Leavenworth, the daughter of Otto Korth and Martha Butzin Korth. She married Arthur H. Asbury on Aug. 29, 1929, in Leavenworth. He preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker. She had worked for the S.S. Kresge Co. for 14 years. She was a member of the National Campers and Hikers and the Pioneer Camping Club.
Edna is survived by her daughter, Janice Calvacca, Lansing; her son, (Ret.)Col. Francis L. Asbury, Niceville, Fla.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ernest Korth; and two sisters, Freda Woodard and Margie Donnell.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Davis Funeral Chapel. Dr. Randall A. Terrill of the First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Leavenworth Hospice, 920 Sixth Ave., Leavenworth, KS 66048."
