The 9th and youngest child of Sarah Dorcas Proctor and Virgil Gilman Way, George Fritz Way born December 11, 1885 - their 6th son. George served in Jefferson Guard after graduation from Gibson High School. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1908 with a BS degree and University of Illinois Medical School in 1911, earning an MD degree. PHe pacticed medicine as a general practioner in Buffalo, Il unitl 1914 and then in Champaign / Urbana for 30 years. He was married to Myrtle Hill June 1908, divorced in the early 1940's. George and Myrtle had two daughters: Sarah Joselyn Way Pulling (Jonathan D.) and Mary Janet Way Hooks (William S.).
