OLLIS K. SKIRVIN
Services for Ollis K. Skirvin, 78, of 4240 Old Ind. 37 North, Bloomington, who died Friday at Bloomington Hospital, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Allen Funeral Home. The Revs. Kim Norris and Richard R. Burdett will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Born Sept. 15, 1907, in Monroe County, he was the son of Benjamin and Laura V. (Arnett) Skirvin. He was a retired toolroom operator at the Allison Division of General Motors Corp. in Indianapolis. He was a member of the Pentecostal Assembly of East 16th Street, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie M. (Davis) Skirvin of Bloomington; one brother, H. Archie Skirvin of Martinsville and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Lee, and Harley "Chick" Skirvin; and one sister, Minnie Blanche Rinhardt.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. today and 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Local chapters of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars will conduct military graveside rites.
