George Ertle Vance Sr., 89, of Pleasant Grove passed away peacefully on Monday, March 7, 2005. He was born February 22, 1916 in Monticello, Utah to John Quincy and Etta May Huffman Vance. He married Susan Adeline Gladden on January 23, 1942 in the Mesa Temple. He is survived by his three sons: George (Mary) Vance Jr., American Fork; Oran (Gwen) Vance, American Fork; and John (Marian) Vance, Bluffdale; 13 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Ines Marlow and Edith Johnson. He was preceded in death in 2002 by his loving wife Susan. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 10, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Timpanogos Sixth Ward Chapel, 425 East 500 North, Pleasant Grove. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Thursday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery with military rites conducted by District IV of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
