YOUTH:
Etta Caroline Braswell was born in Albany, Clinton County Kentucky on Oct 30, 1867. Her parents were:
*Thomas L Braswell (1849 KY - 1902 MO)
*Nancy Elisabeth Brent (1849 KY - 1907 MO)

SIBLINGS:
She was the first born of 10 known children. Three born in Kentucky and the balance born in S.E. Missouri, mostly Perry, when the family moved their in the mid 1870's. They were: Etta Caroline, William Alvin, Louisa Frances, Nellie E, Maudie May, Claudie, Theodosia L, Clarence W, and twins Bert and Myrt.

MARRIAGE:
Etta would marry April 24, 1889 in Iron County, Missouri to:
*William V Sullivan (1859 MO - 1927 MT)

They would live in Sabulia, Ellisnore, Cape Girardeau, Leeper, Arcadia, Talyor Town (Flat River), Elvins, Leadwood and Randolph, all towns with very close proximity in SE Missouri; while her husband worked for Iron Mills. They had ten children in all, four dying early in childhood, in addition to there own, Wm's nephew, Samuel N O'Neal, lived periodically with the family.

ABOUT ETTA CAROLINE:
Etta was referred to as "Granny Sullivan" and often carried a corn cob pipe in her apron pocket. The family moved to Montana in the mid 1910's, where Etta Caroline lived upon her death in 1946. She cooked in various camps down the Musselshell river, before settling in Butte, MT in the late 1910's.

PATRIOTISM:
The daughter of a Civil War Veteran for the Union Army and mother of WWI & WWII veterans, she was a member of the Amberican Legion Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxilary and the Women Relief Corp(possibly DAR as well).

The children of this union scattered to different parts of the country and while they never returned to live they loved their mother dearly and visited her and she them.
