Daniel Boone Lee was the thirteenth child of James and Eliza Lee. His siblings were: Eleanora "Ellen", Martha Ann, Eliza, Sarah Ann LEE Green, Millie A., James Napoleon, Benjiman Franklin, William Henry, Bonaparte, John Morgan, Charles Burgard, and George Jackson.

In 1880, Daniel was living in Grand Pass, Missouri with his sister Millie, Millie's family, his mother Eliza and five of his brothers.

Daniel's headstone says his birth was in 1868, the year of his brother George's birth but the 1880 census lists Daniel as a year younger than George. Daniel's Colorado death certificate indicates that his birth date was May 10, 1870.

Note: The birth certificate of Daniel's daughter, Wanda Doris Lee, says that Daniel was born in Missouri.
