Carmett was the oldest son of Jewell Moses Hollis and Diva Lee Young of LaGrange, Troup County, Georgia. He was married to Virginia Mae Bowen, Nov. 27, 1935, Lanett, Chambers County, Ala. He was also married to Alice J.(Joy)(unk. maiden name and date). According to the Ala. Divorce Index, 1950-1959, Carmett and Joy were divorced in Oct. 1951. Carmett and Joy had (2) daughters, Alicia Kay Hollis and Debbie Hollis. Carmett enlisted in the U.S.Army Oct. 27, 1942 at Fort McPherson, Atlanta, Ga. He was Honorably Discharged at Camp Rucker, Ala. May 26,1943. Carmett died at the age of 53 in the Veteran's Hospital in Kansas City, Missourt after an illness of (1) year.
