Rice. – At Emporia, Thursday night, February 14th, 1901, E. M. Rice, aged 75 years. The remains were shipped here Friday night and on Saturday afternoon were interred in Twin Groves cemetery beside the remains of his wife.
Mr. Rice was a brother to Mrs. Esther butts, and uncle to J. H. Cottrill and Vint Butts, of Severy. Mr. Rice is an old resident of this section living for the past twenty years on his farm northwest of Severy. Last spring he went to Emporia to visit and was taken sick there and died.
