Ammentorp, Martin (6 Sep 1853 - 31 May 1929)

Martin Ammentorp, age 76, and a resident of the town of Longwood, Clark County, Wis. for the past thirty-six years, died at his home two and one-half miles south of Withee, on Friday of last week, after an illness of nearly two months. Mr. Ammentorp was one of the highly respected citizens of that township.

He was born in Vejle, Denmark, Sept. 6, 1853, and in the year 1886 was united in marriage to Miss Maren Larsen. In 1893 they immigrated to the United States, and came to Withee, where they settled on the place where he now resided. Mrs. Ammentorp preceded him in death five years ago.

He leaves to survive him, one daughter, Miss Magna Ammentorp of Grand Forks, N.D., and two sons, Evald and Thorwald, who live on farms south of the village of Withee.

Funeral services were conducted from the Danish Lutheran Church at Withee, Monday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. Petersen, pastor of the church, officiating, and interment took place in the family lot of the church cemetery beside the body of his wife.
