Elizabeth White died at her home near Wagon Wheel Gap Monday, August 26, 1912 from apoplexy. She suffered a stroke on August 16 and seemed to be recovering when attacked again. The body was brought to Del Norte and the funeral held Wednesday at the Methodist Church with burial in the Del Norte cemetery.
Elizabeth Badgley-Murray-White was born in Gallopolis, Ohio Sept. 18, 1829 and was 82 years, 11 months, and 8 days old at the time of her death. Spending her childhood in Gallopolis, she married E. Murray when she was 20 years old. To this union three children were born, two still living are Mrs. James Graham of Del Norte and James Murray of Wagon Wheel Gap.
The family lived for a time in Illinois, in Kendall and LaSalle counties, then moved to Benton County, Iowa where Mr. Murray died as did a daughter.
She married John White at Tampico, Illinois and two sons were born. For the past seventeen years, Mrs. White has made her home with her son James at Wagon Wheel Gap, excepting winters they spent in Del Norte.
