Sibley – Joseph Harvey Slabaugh, 69 of Brookston, Indiana, formerly of Sibley, died Saturday morning (March 11, 1967) at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Brookston. His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Thompson and Hartzler Funeral Home in Brookston, with the Rev. Steve Burris officiating. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery near Flora, Indiana. Visitation will be Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Slabaugh was born August 9, 1897 in Dwight County, Indiana. He married Maude E. Crutcher on June 16, 1922 in McLean County, Illinois. He farmed near Sibley until moving to Brookston 12 years ago. He was employed at Purdue University until his retirement.

Surviving are his wife, 1712 S. Roosevelt, Bloomington; a son, Joseph J. of Normal; two daughters, Mrs. Don Walker of Sibley and Miss Dorothy Slabaugh of Bloomington; a brother, John of Brookston, Indiana; a sister, Mrs. Mary Jensen of Harlan, Iowa; four grandchildren.
