Obituary written by his Pastor, M. C. Bruner:

In the early morning of September 8, 1899, this grand good man passed away. Bro. Cameron was born March 15, 1815 and spent most of his life in the community where he died. Being one of the first settlers of the country, it was a great pleasure to listen to the incidents and thrilling experiences of his early life.

February 26th, 1835 he was married to Taliatha Paris. On October 20th 1857 his wife died, leaving him with seven children. November 25th, 1858, he was married again to Nancy E. Roberts, who also died July 20th 1893, leaving him with five children to mourn her death.

Brother Cameron never married again, but spent the remainder of his days with and for the comfort of his children. In the strength of his young manhood he gave his heart to God and joined the M. E. Church. Brother Cameron was very much devoted to his home and to his country. His home was the home for the preacher. Many now living and others who have passed away found a friend in this servant of God.

But his work is done and he rests in peace. In his life and death were fulfilled the language of Job 5:24-26 "Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in his season." He had a great faith in his God and in the final triumph of the right.

The funeral was held Saturday by Rev. A. Kincaid, his pastor being away from home at the time of his death. Many will miss him, but especially his son and two daughters who remained with and cared for him the last eyars of his life. He was a man of great strength and died in perfect peace.
