William was the oldest child of Major David and Polly Rogers. He married Sally Walker and they were the parents of 13 children. It is unknown at this time where his wife is buried or why he was buried beside his grandfather, John Rogers, instead of the Cemetery on his father's farm.

Note: The burial location of William's wife, Sally, has now been found and linked thanks to member Janet 47382364. Sally moved to Missouri with a daughter and son in law after William's death.
