FRED E. ANDRESEN

Fred E. Andresen, 74, an Akron native, died Tuesday (May 25, 1982) at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars after a brief illness.
Services were held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 28 in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron. The Reverend Marvin Mueller officiated. "Soltly and Tenderly" and "Beautiful Saviour" were sung by a quartet, Vernon Jurgensen, Roxanne Larson, Mel Lubben and Eunice Klemme. Organist was Pam Richards.
Burial was in Riverside Cemetery under direction of the Schroeder Funeral Home. A prayer service was held at 7:30 P.M. Thursday in the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers were Ed Drake, Gerd Jacobs, Richard Hoss, R.J. Witt, William Erks, Bud Johnson and Edmund Blum. Active bearers were Norman Heeren, Freddie Ludwigs, Ronnie Huls, David Vander Kooi, Raymond Andresen, Eugene Huls, and Patrick O'Connor.
Mr. Andresen was born February 5, 1908, at Akron to Henry and Margaret Frederickson Andresen. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron where he as baptized March 15, 1908. His confirmation March 25, 1923, at the church.
He married Lena Huls October 11, 1933, at Trinity Lutheran in Akron. They farmed in the Akron area until moving to Le Mars in 1974. He was employed at the Le Mars Hatchery and at Bernie Klein Implement in Le Mars. He also worked on the Doug McDougall farm near Le Mars.
Survivors include his wife, Lena; one daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Beverly) Nelson of Le Mars; one brother, Andrew of Akron; Brian and Curtis Nelson, all of Le Mars; four other grandchildren, the children of his late son, Eli, Vicki Dimmick of Phoenix; Tim Andresen of Hagerman, Idaho; Lisa and Judy Andresen both of Phoenix; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Eli, two brother, one half-sister and two half-brothers.
