Deaths
John Balliet, 88, 57 Locust St., died at 2:30 am this morning at the Evangelical Hospital, where he had been a patient for the past week.
Mr. Balliet had been in failing health for the past year. Mr. Balliet was born on Nov. 5, 1877, in Northumberland County and resided in the Milton area for most of his life. He was the son of George and Sara Hoffman Balliet.
Mr. Balliet was a butcher by trade and was last employed by the Byerly meat market on South Front Street. He retired several years ago.
Mr. Balliet is survived by a sister, Mrs. Hattie Ritter, 57 Locust St., with whom he reisded since 1920.
Services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday at the Dale E. Ranck funeral home with the Rev. Clarence T. Moyer officiating. Interment will be at Turbotville Cemetery.
