Friends in Richmond have been advised of the death of Mrs. Bessie Stolenwerck Carper, formerly of Staunton, Va., at Bibanga, Africa, on February 9.
Mrs. Carper lived for several years in Richmond. She went to Africa with her husband, the Rev. Day Carper, Of Lewisburg, W. Va., in 1940 as a missionary of the Southern Presbyterian Church. Besides her husband, she is survived by four young children.
