Clifford G. Cate
MILES CITY, MT., Clifford G. Cate, was a district manager for New York Life Insurance. then Western Lif and Minnesota Mutal.
In recent years he had worked for the fuel allocation division of the state Weights and Measures Bureau; worked in Helena, MT., for four legislative sessions in the office of the sergeant at arms; and was with the Montana AAA.''
Mr. Cate, 79, died Saturday morning of an apparent heart attack.
He was born in Midale, Weyburn Census Division, Saskatchewan, Canada, a son of Albert and Lilly S. Kreager Cate.
He came to Montana with his parents when he was 2 years old, homesteading south of Baker.
He attended schools in the Baker area.
He married Bradac in 1932 in Marmarth, N.D.
She died in 1963.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Frances) Bruski of Ekalaka, MT., Mrs. Don (Mary Jean) Niklas of Cypress, CA., and Mrs. Faye McCall of Billings, MT., two sons, Jerome Cate of Billings, MT., and James Cate of Chinook, MT., a brother Win of Spokane, WA., a sister, Mildred Beaudet of Miles City, MT.; 19 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Sacred heart Catholic Church.
Burial in the Cavalry Cemetry Miles City, MT.
