Robert W. Grim, 92, of Toledo, Ohio, died Sunday, September 18, 2005, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, surrounded by his family, living long past his expected expiration date.
He was born April 2, 1913, in Reading, Pennsylvania to Marjorie (Butler) and William Grim. After graduating from the University of Illinois at Champagne-Urbana, he came to Toledo in 1935, where he was employed by Owens-Illinois. From 1942-1944 he served in the U.S. Army in Morocco during
World War II. He returned to Owens-Illinois, where he enjoyed working in finance and international commerce until his retirement in 1978. After retirement, he continued working as a consultant and advisor, and provided many hours of service to new entrepreneurs through SCORE of Toledo (Service Corps. Of Retired Executives).
Bob married Priscilla (Pree) Donnan Grim in 1953, who became his life partner and political conscience until her death in 1985. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Carol "Sprite" Grim Johnson and Steve Johnson (Maine, NY), Nancy Grim and Richard Feinberg (Kent, OH), and
Susan Grim (Toledo). He also leaves loving grandchildren, Joseph Grim Feinberg and wife, Tereza Smejkalova, and Kate Grim-Feinberg and fiance, Ricardo Moyano Vasconcellos. He will be missed by his brothers, George, Dick and Don Grim, and was preceded in death by brother, Jim Grim and uncle, Ralph Grim. He is also missed by his loving neighbors, Russell and Serena Troyan, Corey and McKenna, as well as many other friends and colleagues.
