Bernice Sloan Primm was born in 1860, Monroe County, Tennessee, the second child of John B. Sloan and Serenia Richardson. She was about four years old when her mother and the children were moved to Illinois, and about fourteen when she came to Texas with her parents. She married William W. (Billy) Primm about 1880 and they lived in Cumby, Texas. Bernice reportedly died when their youngest son, Dick, was born, or was a very small child. Dick was raised by one of her husband’s sisters, Margaret Prim Carpenter. Bernice and William died in Cumby, Texas.
Bernice and William’s children were:
1. George Stephenson Primm 1882 – 1963, married Verna Stewart b. 1881 d. 1972
2. Clem Primm b. January 24, 1881 – d. August 20, 1958 - married (1) Miss Baker (2) Sallie Pharr
3. Lilah Jane Primm 1885 -1920 married William Victor Sapaugh b. 1879 - 1936
4. Annie Primm - married Dick Waggoner
5. Dick Primm - married Ruth Haddock
