Wanda L. "Peggy" Bailey

MARION - Wanda L. "Peggy" Bailey, 96, passed away at 6:20 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, in Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, in Blue Funeral Home in Marion, with the Rev. Kevin McNeely officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Coal Bank Springs Cemetery in Dykersburg.

Memorials may be made to Coal Bank Springs Cemetery Fund, and envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, P.O. Box 411, Marion, IL 62959.

Mrs. Bailey was born Sept. 12, 1911, in Williamson County to John L. and Addie (Miller) Turner. She married Coy Virgil Bailey on July 16, 1952, in Piggott, Ark., and he preceded her in death April 27, 1993.

Survivors include stepdaughter and her husband, Pat, and George Polasek of Tennessee; several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; brother, Chester Turner of Crab Orchard; sisters, Evelyn Black and Mildred Richey, both of Marion; nieces and husbands, Deborah and David McAlpin and JoAnn and Jim Nicholson; nephews and wives, Gordon and Diane Richey and Ron and Kay Jochum; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded by her parents; her husband; stepson, Coy Bailey; sister, Afton Jochum; and nephew, John Edgar Turner.

Mrs. Bailey was a longtime member of Coal Bank Springs Church. She worked for several years at the Economy Store in Marion, and she was a homemaker.
