Evelyn D. Moss, of Eureka, died at her residence in Eureka, on Thursday, November 6, 2003, at the age of 95.

She was born in Piedmont, on January 11, 1908, the daughter of George and Maggie (Lasater) Denchfield. She was raised in Piedmont and attended Harmony and Eureka schools graduating from Eureka High School with the class of 1926.

On August 11, 1926 Evelyn was united in marriage to Harold Lawrence Moss in Iola, Kansas. They made their home in the Eureka area where they farmed and Evelyn cooked at the Lyndon Nursing Home. She retired in the late 1960’s. She and Harold moved in to Eureka in the early 1990’s. He preceded her in death on March 23, 1999 after 72 years of marriage.

She was a homemaker, and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Eureka, the Social Hour Club, and HDU.

She is survived by one son, ... of the home, and three nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister.

Graveside services and interment will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, November 10, 2003 at Greenwood Cemetery with Reverend Diana Hill of the First United Methodist Church officiating.

A memorial has been established in her name with the First United Methodist Church. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, which was in charge of service arrangements.
