Nellie O. Youngquist passed away November 14, 2011 at Evergreen Hospice, Kirkland, WA at the age of 105 years.

She was born November 25, 1905 in Cheyenne, OK to Otis and Stella Vanderpool. They moved to Burlington, WA when she was 5 years old. She married Gus A. Youngquist in 1927.

Nellie was employed as a bookkeeper at First National Bank in Burlington until she started her family. After the children were older, Nellie began working for the Skagit County Treasurer's office as an investment deputy.

Nellie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Vernon, American Legion and a member for life of Mt. Baker Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include her daughter, Diane Felton, of Bellevue, WA; son and daughter-in-law, Van and Judy Youngquist, of Longview, WA; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gus Youngquist, her son, Gary Youngquist, brothers, Orville and Cecil Vanderpool, and sister, Hazel Fitch.

As per her request, no service will be held.
