FORT WORTH - Homer "H.L." Starnes, 87, a retired insurance salesman, died Wednesday, May 22, 2002 at a local nursing home.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday, May 25, at Edge Park United Methodist Church. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 24, at Laurel Land Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be members of the Southeast Side Lion's Club.

Memorials: May be made to Edge Park United Methodist Church; or to the Lion's Club.

Homer was born Feb. 19, 1915 in Milam County, Texas to George W. and Addie Lee Starnes. He was a member of Edge Park United Methodist Church for over 40 years. He was also a lifetime member of the Lion's Club and active in many other civic organizations. Homer also loved to travel and do photography.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Starnes in 1999; his parents; and two brothers.

Survivors: Brothers-in-law, Louis Seidl and his wife, June of Glen Rose and Gilbert Wendland of Taylor; and numerous nieces and nephews.
