The Honourable Mr. Juchereau Duchesnay died suddenly at his manor-house in Beauport, one day before his 58th birthday. At his funeral, most of the members of the Lower Canadian legislature were present, and the Archbishop of Quebec, Joseph-Octave Plessis, gave the final tribute
