Services for A.N. Nodurft were held in the Merkle Chapel and conducted by Dr. O.L. Powers, pastor of Wichita Falls Baptist Church. Mr. Nodurft was a native of Lyons, Kansas, and graduated from public schools there. From Lyons, he went to Oklahoma City, where he was employed in a bank until his connection with Continental Oil Company in 1929. He lived in Ponca City, Oklahoma for a year before being transferred to Wichita Falls. He moved to Fort Worth in July 1931 when the company transferred its offices. He had taken advantage of his vacation time to come to Wichita Falls to visit the young woman, his fiancee, with whom he was sitting in their Parked car. He had given her an engagement ring last Saturday. The couple was sitting in a car near the Wichita Valley railroad when they were attacked by two men and he was mortally wounded. Survived by his parents; six brothers.
