Roy was born May 11, 1921 to Evald and Caroline (Damgaard) Ammentorp in the Town of Longwood. Roy graduated Withee High School in 1939 and went onto school to Grandview College and then onto the Milwaukee School of Engineering for refrigeration.
Roy proudly served his county in the Navy in World War II. Roy and Marian Hansen were joined in marriage on June 19, 1948 at the First Congregational Church in Owen. Roy owned and operated a refrigeration business in Milwaukee until 1978 when he and Marian moved to a farm in the Town of Longwood.
Roy is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marian, his son, Don Ammentorp of Milwaukee, his daughter, Kathy Ammentorp of Milwaukee, his sisters: Ruth (Late Roger) Wolfram of Eau Claire, and Amy (Henry) Mauel of Owen; and his brothers: Ray (Shirley) Ammentorp of West Covina, CA, Jim (Barb) Ammentorp of Freeport, IL, and Marvin (Ruth) Ammentorp of Scottsdale, AZ
Roy is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Patricia Ammentorp, and his sister, Marian Haas.
