John L. Platt, 69, of 923 King street died at St. Joseph Mercy hospital, Pontiac; Mich., at 5:15 a.m. Wednesday. He had been a patient there a day and a half, and had been ill for the last three years. He was born in Stockwell in 1885 and was married to Alice M. Zahn. He was a member of First Christian church, city, and Carpenter's union No. 215. A son John L. Platt Jr., was killed in the Philippines in World War II, in 1945. Surviving are the widow, four children, James E., city, Mrs. Forrest Marble, Saginaw, Mich. Mrs. Alice Richardson, Pontiac, Mich., and Mrs. Paul Ferneding of Indianapolis; two brothers, Evert of Delphi and Jacob of Stockwell; three sisters, Mrs. Haven Locke, city, Mrs. Olga Fisher of Stockwell and Mrs. Carrie Stonebraker, city.
