Born in Haifa, Israel to Michael and Zenia (Tanzcewska) Kanon (of blessed memory). Both parents were Holocaust survivors who were born in Poland. Lana also known in Hebrew as Leah immigrated to the USA and received her citizenship at the age of 18. She later married and her last named changed to Segura and had 3 children from her first marriage. She immigrated to Israel in 1983 after her divorce. Lana was diagnosed with Melanoma Skin Cancer in 1983 and underwent major surgery to radicate the Skin Cancer from her back. When remarrying in 1990 (Shemesh) she had her 4th child and was after diagnosed with recurring Melanoma which then spread to her Liver and Spleen. There was nothing that could be done to save her life and with much sadness Lana passed away on November 27, 1991 in Bellinson Hospital, Petach Tikva, Israel. In 1995 her father, Michael Kanon (of blessed memory) passed away due to Pancreatic Cancer. On Septenber 24, 2003, Zenia Kanon (of blessed memory) passed away due to On Acute Renal Failure, Gastro Intestinal Bleeding and also from Dementia since 1997. Lana (Leah) will always be in our hearts and is greatly missed. She is survived by her 4 children, David Ben, Daniel Zev, Anna Beth Kanon, Raphael Moshe Eliezar Shemesh, grandchildren and brother Louis Kanon.
