Mrs. Lavada "Sweetie" Adams, 88, of Pine Mountain passed away November 18, 2011 at LaGrange Nursing and Rehab. Mrs. Adams was born October 24, 1923 in Miller County, daughter of the late Clayton and Maude Holloway Murkerson. She was a member of Genesis Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Edith and Doug Findlay of White Rock, British Columbia; a daughter-in-law, Donna Adams of LaGrange; grandchildren and their spouses, Candace and Bobby Cannon of Plant City, FL, Angela and Scott Woelk of Winter Haven, FL, Debra Adams, James and Dana Adams, Warren and Brandy Adams, all of LaGrange, and Colonel Adams, IV of Tallahassee, FL; sisters, Edna Evans of Kissimmee, FL and Jimmy Bush of Donaldsonville, GA; brother, Edgar Murkerson of Bartow, FL; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bill McClintock, and Jimmy and Sheila Adams, all of Bartow, FL, and Bill and Margaret Adams of Alabama; caregiver, Betty Williams of Pine Mountain; 13 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Hunter-Allen-Myhand Chapel with Rev Rick Lipp officiating. Interment will be at Oak Grove Congregational Christian Church Cemetery. The family will be at her home and receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
