Cener Belle's parents were Howard Boone and Sarah Elizabeth Floyd. They were the parents of eleven children, two who died at birth. In the autumn of 1850, Howard and Elizabeth left Tennessee and moved westward to Arkansas. They settled for a short time in Washington County then moved to Richland Creek, in Madison County. They lived there for almost fifteen years.

In October of 1866, they returned to Tennessee and stayed until November of 1873 when they left for Texas, settling briefly near the community of Bobo. They then moved on to Smithfield and lived there until Cener Belle died in 1875. The family then moved to the Azle area and purchased land.
