He was born in Kingston, TN on October 18, 1930, the son of George W. and Mary Thelma (Guy) Andrew. He lived most of his life in the Hagerstown area.
John was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a retired employee of Dana Corp. He was a member of William O. Frazier Post #333, American Legion Jerry Ridge Post #38, AMVETS, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in New Castle. He was also a member of Dana Retirees and Perfect Circle 25 Year Club.
Survivors include three children: Diane Andrew of Las Vegas, Lorri (Louie) Artman of Greens Fork and John (Beverly) Andrew of Hagerstown; three grandchildren: Megan Shell, Lindsey Artman and Lucas Artman; three step-grandchildren: Brad Rogers, Melissa Ritter and Kevin Rogers; two brothers: Curtis Andrew of Lynn and Homer Andrew of Las Vegas; an uncle and several nieces and nephews.
His wife, Rosemary Andrew, preceded him in death in 1969.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 3, in Culberson Funeral Home, Hagerstown. Rev. Herschel Murray will officiate. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Brick Church Cemetery, where military graveside services will be conducted by American Legion Post #333.
