Mr. Ross was born March 6, 1899, in Akron and married Lucile Akers August 14, 1924 at Elk Point, S. D. He had been in the banking business in the Akron area nearly fifty years and had been president of the Akron Savings Bank for many years until he sold his interest in the bank in 1967. He was actively engaged in the real estate business until the time of his death. Don was a member of Freedom Lodge 434, A.F. & A.M., Akron and a member of the Sioux City Consistory.

Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Leslie Mitchell, of Akron; two brothers, Dr. F. B. Ross, of San Marcos, California and Hobart Ross, of Tyler, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Murel Stoland, of Lawrence, Kansas, and Miss Alta Ross, of Le Mars; and two grand children, Matthew and Christopher Mitchell.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 o'clock Monday morning at Wesley United Methodist Church in Akron, with Chaplain Oscar Reese, of Sioux City, officiating. Burial was in Riverside" Cemetery, with Masonic rites exemplified at the graveside.

Don numbered his friends by his acquaintances, and his jovial nature and always friendly demeanor endeared him to all. He will indeed be sincerely missed by his many friends and business associates, all of whom join in extending heartfelt sympathy to the members of his family in their bereavement.
