EDWARD W. CARNAHAN
Edward William Carnahan, 55 years old, of 708 Clay avenue, Jeannette, died at 11:15 o'clock Tuesday morning in the Westmoreland Hospital following a three weeks' illness of complications. Born near McKeesport, he came to Jeannette 19 years ago from Penn. Until his health failed last February, he had been a miner at the McCullough mine, Westmoreland Coal Company, for 30 years. He was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Jeannette. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Sarah Carnahan, and the following children: Mrs. Louis Houser, Mrs. John Krause, Mrs. George Pearsall, Leonard, and James, all of Jeannette; John, of Irwin; Mrs. Meredith Flock, of Greensburg; George, of Des Moines, Iowa; and Emma, Elmer, and Loretta, at home. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and three sisters: Mrs. Daniel Bricker, of Mt. Union; Mrs. Jesse Clark, of Lewistown, and Mrs. Joseph Barick, of East Pittsburgh. Friends will be received at his late home until 1:30 o'clock Friday afternoon, when removal will be made to the First Pentecostal Church, where funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock by Rev. Kenneth Baker, assisted by Rev. Wilbur Hoak, of Irwin. Interment will be in Irwin Union cemetery.
