William A. Post, Composer, Is Dead; Rites on Wednesday

William A. Post, 63, of 228 Amherst Avenue, composer of a number of hymns and religious songs, and a musician in Syracuse many years, died last night in Syracuse Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was a life resident of this city.

Mr. Post was widely known in the city for his ability both as a pianist and cornetist. He was a member of South Presbyterian Church, all Central City Masonic bodies, Tigris Temple, A. A. O. N. M. S. and the Billy Sunday Club.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Edith Van Wagenen Post; a son, Howard Post of Buffalo; a brother, Schuyler Post of Syracuse and a sister, Mrs. R. V. Chapman of Skaneateles. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the home. Fairchild & Meech, undertakers, will take the body to Marcellus for burial.
