Anthony J. Caruso, of 444 S. Poplar St., Hazleton, died Tuesday evening at his residence. Born in Hazleton, he was a son of the late Vincent and Mary (Profita) Caruso. Before retiring he was employed by the Hazleton Area School District. He was a member of Holy Rosary R.C. Church and a life member of the Hazleton American Legion. Preceding him in death were a brother, James; and a sister, Josephine Gabriel. Surviving are three sisters, Lucille and Jennie Caruso at home; and Mrs. Bertha Mainiero, Hazleton; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. from the Beltz-Petrilli Funeral Home, 235 E. Broad St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Holy Rosary R.C. by the Rev. Neil Gugliemelli. Interment will be in St. Gabriel's Cemetery.
