Mary Dryman Botkin, 97, of Harriman, died Saturday, June 2, 2007, in Rockwood Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Born May 25, 1910, in Harriman, she lived in the area most of her life. She did love to travel and had went to several countries with her husband and her children.
She worked at Edwards Shoe Store, Harriman, for about 20 years during the 1960s and 1970s and was a longtime member of First Christian Church.
Many will remember her for her ready smile and her warm, caring personality. She also wrote articles about her memories of the "old days" in Harriman for the Roane Reader.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Hillborn H. Botkin, in 1987; and parents, William Dryman and Minnie Kirkland Dryman.
Survivors include children and their spouses, Bill and Lynn Botkin of Sebastapol, Calif., Merrill and Evi Botkin of Reno, Nev., Blaine Botkin and David L. and Susan Botkin, all of Harriman, and Dan Botkin of Kaufman, Texas; grandchildren; and extended family members.
A memorial service for family and friends will be announced later.
