Melvin H. Summers

OGDEN – Melvin H. Summers, 99 ½, died September 5, 2007 in Ogden. He was born March 14, 1908 in Avon, Utah the son of Henry C. and Cynthia Stone Summers. He married Pearl Watterson November 22, 1927 in Logan

Melvin loved his family, he was a collector of rope and string; his favorite color was red.

He worked at DDO and was also a crossing guard, but his first love was farming.

He is survived by three daughters, Shirley (Garlin) Carr, Joyce (Walter) Bielik, and Sheilla (Terry) Ruckstuhl; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews that he loved.

He was preceded in death by his wife Pearl; 10 brothers and sisters; one grandson; two granddaughters; and two great grandsons.

We would like to thank IHC Hospice for their loving care, with a special thanks to Ilene and Jon.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd. Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
