  Ethel A. Vedo, age 96, of Eau Claire and formerly of Cumberland died Saturday, November 1, 2003, at Dove Healthcare Nursing & Rehabilitation in Eau Claire. Ethel was born on March 6, 1907, to Andrew and Augusta (Storm) Anderson in the town of Prairie Lake, Barron County, Wis. In April of 1942, she was married to Nels Vedo at Duluth, Minn.

Ethel was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Nels on December 18, 1949; sisters, Ida Erickson, Rena Jacobson and Geneva Kringle; and brothers, John, Alfred, Isaac, Walter and Clarence Anderson.

She is survived by one daughter, LaVon (Arden) Rasmussen of Eau Claire; two granddaughters, Heidi (Brent) Swenson of Connorsville and Andrea (William) Spenser of Marshall; six great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Gustafson of Aitkin, Minn.; many nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.

A graveside service for the family will be held at New Scandinavia Lutheran Cemetery, town of Maple Grove, Barron County, with Rev. Ralph Marquardt officiating.
