"Mrs Susan Dean
Mrs. Susan Dean, wife of Ransom Dean, and daughter of William and the late Annie Woolsey, born in Pulaski Co., KY, Sept. 15th 1845, died on the Big Dry Fork in Phelps Co., Apr. 13th 1877, aged 31 yrs. 6 ms. and 28 days. Singing, Prayer, and remarks at the Deans Cemetery, April 14th 1877. by Rev. J.JU. Watts. A funeral sermon was preached by Rev. John Glover at the Dean School House, May 27th 1877 - Relatives: Father, Step-mother, 6 brothers and 3 sisters."

Susan was the 8th child born to William James "Bill" WOOLSEY, Sr. and Annie MARTIN, 15 SEP 1845 in Pulaski County, Kentucky.

Her mother died 8 FEB 1846 on the South Fork of the Cumberland River, Pulaski County, Kentucky. Susan was 4 months old.

Her father married Nancy TURPIN 7 SEP 1847 in Pulaski County. Susan was almost 2.

The family moved to Missouri in 1852. Susan was 6 or 7.

Her stepmother, Nancy, went back to Kentucky about 1854. Susan was 8.

And Bill married his third wife Matilda Cynthia HUDGENS WOOLSEY, his brother's widow in 1855. Susan would have been 9 years old.

25 DEC 1861 Susan married Ransom DEAN in Phelps County, Missouri. Susan was 16 years old.
They had 4 children:
1. William Moses DEAN (1863-1863) 4 days old
2. Eli DEAN (1864-1889)
3. Henry Jackson DEAN (1867 - 1945)

Susan was 31 years old when she died in 1877.
