Treadwell, Arlouene age 84, of Olivet, MI, died Monday, November 8, 2004. Mrs. Treadwell was born November 14, 1919 in Detroit, MI the daughter of a Norwegian immigrant, the late Haakon Furu and the late Bessie (Gleason) Furu. She was a faithful member of the Lee Center United Methodist Church serving in many capacities over the years. She was also a member of Olivet College Women's Board, Hayes Green Beach Hospital Red Cross Volunteer and an avid bridge player. Arlouene was married to Sterling Treadwell in 1938 and together they cared for Sterling's parents in their tidy farmhouse along with raising the two children Rosalie and Lawrence. She truly enjoyed her role as Grandmother and Great-grandmother to her grandchildren and many others. Arlouene was always a trusted neighbor that could be counted on to lend a hand to those in need.

She is survived by her husband Mr. Sterling Treadwell; daughter-Mrs. Rosalie (Leonard) Eishen, of Sturgis, son-Mr. Lawrence Treadwell and fiance' Karen Strickland of East Lansing, two sisters, Julia (Don) Rush and Dorothy (Richard) Nichols all of Ft, Myers, FL, brother, Eric (Joyce) Furu of Marshall, MI, 5 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 3 step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister Shirley and brothers Wardhal and Donald.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 11, 2004, at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, MI with Rev. Diane Stone officiating. Interment will be at Lee Center Cemetery in Lee Township, MI. Visitation will be 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, and 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at Pray Funeral Home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Lee Center United Methodist Church or Eaton Community Hospice.
