Dorothy was born to Hazel and Omar LaHue in Missouri. The family moved numerous times, finally settling in Southern California in the 1930's. She had three siblings, Pauline, Omar and William.
She graduated from San Bernardino High School in 1941, and weeks later she and her sister took a train to Everette Washington where she married Sgt Robert "Bob" Lewis who was in the US Army Air Corp. The two were introduced by her brother-in-law at a dance at Harlan Springs in San Bernardino when Bob was stationed at March Field a year earlier.
Dorothy dedicated her life to being a Military wife and most of all, to her family, and was a beloved mother to three daughters, Janine Marie Lewis, Laurette Eileen Lewis Woods and Julianne Lewis.
She and Bob divorced in 1986.
Dorothy's passions, aside from her family, were cooking, sewing, reading, nutrition, Astrology and feline rescue.
She is deeply missed by family and friends.
