Helen Marie Taylor of Fredericksburg passed away Sunday October 9, 2011 in the Knopp Nursing Home at the age of 84.

Mrs. Taylor was born February 13, 1927 in Mason, Texas to John William Kruse and Veda Brown Kruse. She married Garland Taylor in June of 1946 in Mason.

She is survived by her children Harry Taylor and wife Cindy of Austin, Robert Taylor and wife Vicki of Austin, Kathy Burton and husband Bill of San Marcos, Jack K. Taylor and wife Marie of Bronte; sisters Pearl Segars of Austin, Lola Hohn of Mason; brother Buddy Kruse of Uvalde, 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Mrs. Taylor graduated from business school and was an Innkeeper. She was instrumental in the beginning fo the hospitality business in Fredericksburg by opening one of the first bed and breakfasts in 1981, appropriately named "Be My Guest" which she ran until 2008. She loved to garden and was a memeber of the Native Plant Society of Texas. Mrs. Taylor had a passion for recycling and repurposing,

Funeral services will be on Thursday October 13, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with entombment to follow at St. Mary's cemetery mausoleum.
