Marraget Hoffman was born in Clintonville, the daughter of Daniel and Margaret Layton Hoffman. On February 27, 1879, she married Samuel Wilson Riddle and they became the parents of Frank, Ralph and Margaret (Beatty) Riddle. Margaret joined the Presbyterian church early in life and later became a member of the Methodist Episcopal church in town. She died at her home in the village where she spent her life. Rev. Thomas F. Kerr of the M.E. church conducted her services before interment in the church cemetery.
