Del Norte Prospector dated March 3, 1933
William Bartlett, well known World War veteran, died at his home in Del Norte on Feb. 25, 1933, from a hemorrhage. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during the World War and served eighteen months at the front. Three days before the armistice was signed, he was badly gassed and he never recovered. His lungs had always been effected and it was from this cause that he passed on.
William was born at Durango, Colorado April 5, 1893 and would have been 40 years old in April. He leaves to mourn, his mother, four brothers, wife and two children, Bobby and Winne.
The funeral was held from the home on Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J. W. Walker, pastor. Rio Grande Post No. 95 of the American Legion had charge of the service at the grave and military honors were conferred.

Note: The birthdate on Ida Taylor Bartlett's page is incorrect. I have sent a correction for that page along with a newspaper article describing Ida's shooting at a dance in Pagosa Springs, Colorado in 1925. William and Ida were married in 1921. pwc
