The Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of Irene Litchy, age 89 of St. Wendel will be 10:30 AM Monday, February 4 at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in St. Wendel. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. There will be a visitation from 4-8:00 PM Sunday and again after 9:00 AM Monday at the Miller-Carlin-Brenny Funeral Home in Holdingford. St. Columbkille parish prayers will be at 7:00 PM and St. Columbkille Christian Mothers will pray at 7:30 PM Sunday evening at the funeral home in Holdingford.
Irene was born March 27, 1918 in Mayhew Lake. She married Conrad Litchy on November 11, 1937 in Mayhew Lake. The couple moved to Arban and then to St. Wendel. Irene worked at Fingerhut doing sewing and radio repair. She retired from Fingerhut in the mid 1980's. She was a member of the St. Columbkille Catholic Church and the St. Columbkille Christian Mothers.
Irene is survived by her children; Gloria Rudolph, St. Wendel; Jo Ann (Roger) Benkowski, St. Wendel; Shirley (Delmer) Skroch, Upsala; Melvin (Jeanette) Litchy, St. Joseph; Diane (LeRoy) Langner, Avon and Allen (Yvonne) Litchy, St. Wendel. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1995 and her brothers and sisters.
