Mrs.Florence Forrest Christina Stout Girdley 90's, born in Buechel, KY, entered into eternal rest Thursday, March 14, 2002. Mrs. Girdley was a homemaker and a retired, talented and highly respected floral designer for many years. She was a member of the long established pioneer Stout and Girdler-Girdley families of early Kentucky and a longtime resident of Louisville. Mrs.
Girdley was devoted to and beloved by her children and grandchildren. She was a Baptist, a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels and a Gold Star Mother.

She was preceded in death by her late husband and father of her children, Vernon Eurel Girdley, Sr; their infant son, Vernon Eurel Girdley, Jr. 1st., and another son, Vernon Eurel Girdley, Jr.II, who was killed in Action in the Korean War; her loving parents, Joseph Fielding Stout and mother, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Victoria Mahan Stout; her devoted brother, Chester Austine Paul Stout; and a sister, Mrs. Violet Blanche Stout Arkenburg.

To cherish fond memories, she leaves her daughters, Mrs. Frances Christina Girdley Barker and her husband, Layle Brent Barker of Bon Air, Richmond, Virgina, and Mrs. Virginia Carol Girdley Pickerell and her husband, Charles Robert Pickerell; a son, Harry Watson Girdley of Louisville; three grandchildren, Larry Alan Barker and his wife, Mrs. Brenda Jean O'Bryant Barker of New Market, Virginia, Patricia Ann Pickerell Best of Indiana and Richard Austin Pickerell.

Funeral services for Mrs. Girdley will be conducted at the Nunnelly Funeral Home, 4327 Taylor Blvd., at 10 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2002, officiated by the Rev. Shawn Merithew, pastor of Carlisle Avenue Baptist Church.

Burial will be in Cave Hill Cemetery of Louisville, (Section 33, lot 349).

Friends and Family may call on Saturday and Sunday between the hours of 1 - 8 p.m.
