Harold D. Abbott, age 73, of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. He attended Piney Level Baptist Church and was employed with the Blount County Schools for 42 ½ years. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Ira and Elizabeth Davis Abbott; sisters, Dorothy Ogle and Beatrice Radford; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Hubert and Helen Braden; brothers–in-law, L.C. Tipton, Harold Kitts, Charles Braden, Sam Pickens, Clinton Ogle, Eric Radford and Foute Cable.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Mary Abbott; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Belinda Abbott; daughter and son-in-law, Lora and Mark Huffstetler; grandchildren, Kristi Smart and her husband Jordan, Noah Huffstetler; great-grandchildren, Tripp and Kate-Lynn Smart; brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Patricia Abbott; sisters, Eloise Pickens and Estelle Cable; sisters and brothers-in-law, Janice and Tommy Green, Carol and Claude Galyon; sisters-in-law, Jackie Kitts, Linda Albert, and Myrtle Braden; brother-in-law, Jeffrey Albert; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 3, 2010 at McCammon-Ammons-Click Chapel with the Rev. George Macht officiating. The interment will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Forest Hill Cemetery.
